I’m taking the rest of the year off!

It’s February 2007. Traditionally a month where the SAD kicks in and you wonder why you didn’t book a holiday when you had the chance.

This year, rather than scrabble around for a long weekend away, I’ve decided to take the summer off. Heck, why not the rest of the year?

But first, there are preparations to be made. I have a job, a rented flat, some treasured possessions and a lot of stuff I simply don’t want or need any more. So I can’t just ‘up sticks’ immediately, and anyway it is not in my nature to be totally spontaneous.

But my current contract finishes in June and it seems like a good opportunity to make the break. So I have four months to get ready.
