Leaving London

I will miss London, I am sure. I will miss Hampstead Heath and all the London parks. I will miss the little ‘villages’ within the city - Marylebone, Brondesbury, Hampstead, Ladbroke Grove, Clerkenwell and so on. My route along the Regent’s Canal to work. The restaurants on Charlotte Street, the pubs along the South Bank. The hidden churches in the City. London is as much about these little places, these oases as it is about the bright lights of the big city.

Many of my friends and family are here too. I’ll miss being able to meet my mum for coffee on a sunny day, training in the park with my friends, getting together to watch Arsenal or England in the pubs of north London.

I probably won’t miss the tube though! It’s getting to that time of year when the tube becomes unbearable.
