Professional blogging as a business model

A blogger called Yaro Starak has written a series of articles on professional blogging as a business model. He contends that professional blogging is not a sustainable model because generally it is dependent on the owner creating their own content day after day, which means that there are limits to how much this content can be expanded and how much freedom the owner can enjoy from their labours. People who give up their full time jobs in the hope of making decent money online find out that they have a new full time job. They are self-employed, not owners of a business. Steve Pavlina and Darren Rowse are successful pro bloggers and many people try to emulate them but they are mighty exceptions to the rule. Yaro suggests a number of solutions to the pro blogging problem. Essentially, you should ensure that the blog is not dependent on yourself alone and that your ideas are scalable.
