Getting ready to move

Now that I am back in London making arrangements to complete my move, it feels closer. I have a real sense of being about to leap into the unknown and of leaving behind familiar faces and routines. My mum, who also lives in London is very supportive and seems excited for me. But it must be strange for her, knowing that I am moving to the other end of the country after so many years living in the same city. I will miss her being close by.
I don’t want a big leaving do as I don’t want it to feel like I am going away never to be seen again. I am not leaving the country, although to my London-centric acquaintance it probably seems like that. I am thinking about having a farewell picnic on Hampstead Heath, as it is my favourite place in London.
