No longer a Londoner

I moved all my stuff down to Newquay at the weekend. It was an epic day as it took about seven hours to drive there. I had my youngest sister, Ellie and a man-with-van, John to help me. John turned out to be a super guy, which was a relief as we had to spend nigh on twelve hours in his company!
I am much more relaxed now that the move has taken place. It is not just the relief of getting the job done but also relief that the flat still feels right for me. I haven’t been inside it since I first went to view it some weeks ago.
Although I haven’t had a chance to unpack yet - I am back in London right now - it finally feels real to be a resident of Cornwall. Up until Sunday I had trouble imagining myself as anything but a Londoner. But I live by the beach now. This beach, in fact….
