Should I publicise this blog more widely?

I am considering whether to publicise this blog more widely. I need to email friends, acquaintances and colleagues to tell people that I am moving, invite them to leaving do’s and so on, and I have the option of letting people know about this blog.

I have held back from doing it thus far, as it is fairly personal and I am not sure where I want this blogging to go. But several people have said they liked it (were they just being polite?) so perhaps I will bite the bullet and go for it!
